Learn Spanish Now is a good tool that will help you acquire a more complete vocabulary. The program also includes some features to help you practice your vocabulary and writing skills.

When you first begin Learn Spanish Now, the program will ask you to choose from a list of Spanish words you'd like to learn. Then you can study the list or use it to play one of four flash card games. The games include: Recognize It, Know It, Produce It, and Own It, each game is progressively more difficult. The simplest game allows you to choose the correct word from a multiple-choice list; the most challenging game requires you to listen to the word and type in the correct translation.

As you complete each word list, the program tracks your progress and ranks your skill level so that you will be motivated to top your score by broadening your vocabulary.

Transparent includes a speech recognition tool to measure how similar you can pronounce words to a native Spanish speaker. We found this feature wasn't totally accurate, but the tool will give you a general idea of your pronunciation accuracy.

The help and documentation segment of this program is excellent. The normal turn-around time for email response is two business days.

Learn Spanish Now covers a few of the fundamentals of language acquisition including reading, writing and listening skills. The program could be more effective overall by offering grammar instruction and conversation practices.

Help/Support:  

If acquiring fluency in the Spanish language is your goal, this product alone is not your best choice as it solely focuses on improving your vocabulary and pronunciation.

Learn Spanish Now is a fine flash card program designed to increase vocabulary and pronunciation. It is available for use on your Palm device or Pocket PC allowing for constant exposure and reference.
