(Note: I Can Speak Spanish is no longer available through the manufacturer) I Can Speak Spanish, produced by Transparent, is actually two products in one. The software includes both A+ Spanish and Learn Spanish Now. A+ Spanish is an earlier version of our #4 product, SpanishNow Deluxe. Even though I Can Speak Spanish is a remake and not as sophisticated as the higher-ranked, newer products, it is a good program nonetheless.
The feature set for this program includes the ability to slow down the pronunciation of a selected word to hear each syllable. The program also offers a check-word feature that allows you to build a personal vocabulary list of words you'd like to focus on.
The crossword activity is fun and helps improve vocabulary and spelling by requiring you to fill in the Spanish words with correct accent marks.
The speech recognition software in this program needs some improvement, and a progress or goal tracking system would be welcome.
To navigate, you can use the tab function to move to the correct section. Once you have chosen a section, however, the controls and layout are complicated and confusing.
We had no problems during the installation process.
The help and documentation segment of this program was excellent. The normal turnaround time for an email response is two business days. Technical Support is open Monday through Friday between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM EST. Online, Transparent offers FAQs, updates and Technical Support request forms. Or you can reach Transparent at their toll-free number, 1-800-567-9619.
This program covers all of the fundamentals necessary to become fluent in Spanish.
This program is an effective tool to help you acquire Spanish language skills. A+ is an earlier version of SpanishNow one of transparents other products. Overall I can speak Spanish is not as effective as SpanishNow.
Transparent is gradually phasing out A+ Spanish as a solo product, preferring to bundle it with Learn Spanish Now. The result is this package-a more effective learning tool than A+ Spanish alone.
Overall, this product does an adequate job of instructing Spanish language learners. However, there are many other software programs available that can accomplish this goal more with more power and pizzazz.
